1. 

   Founder, CEO

   Michelle Frauley

   Michelle Frauley is the Founder and CEO of HosPall Homecare. With over 35 years of nursing and leadership experience, Michelle has dedicated her career to helping individuals of all ages receive compassionate, high-quality care in the comfort of their home.

   Michelle’s background spans family medicine, palliative and end-of-life care, women’s health, long-term care, the operating room, and community nursing. She holds the Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) designation and a Certified Dementia Care Provider designation, and is a member of the Canadian Nurses Association. Her experience has shown that the best healthcare is built on trust, dignity, and compassion. These are the values that remain the foundation of HosPall today.

   Since founding HosPall in 2014, Michelle has grown the organization into one of York Region’s most trusted home care providers. Under her leadership, HosPall has earned Accreditation Canada Exemplary Status, recognition as an Age Friendly Business, and membership in leading professional associations such as the Canadian Home Care Association and Home Care Ontario.

   Her dedication has been recognized both professionally and in the community. She was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal (2025), named Citizen of the Year by the Township of King (2022), honoured by the International Nurses Association as a Worldwide Leader in Healthcare, nominated three times for the Toronto Star Florence Nightingale Award, and recognized as a York Region Portraits of Giving honouree (2024).

   Michelle is also a committed community leader, having served as President of the King Chamber of Commerce until stepping down in March 2026. She continues as a Board Director for the Alzheimer Society of York Region, where she chairs the Quality, Safety and Performance (QSP) Committee.

   Outside of work, Michelle enjoys travelling with her husband, Bruce, supporting local charities, and staying actively involved in her community.

2. 

   Chief Operating Officer

   Bruce Frauley

   Bruce Frauley is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Business Management and Marketing. He brings more than three decades of experience in sales, marketing, and business operations, providing the expertise necessary to support and guide the HosPall Homecare team.

   As Chief Operating Officer, Bruce oversees HosPall’s day-to-day business operations. He is responsible for, developing and implementing operational plans, overseeing scheduling and ensuring that procedures are followed with efficiency and care. He is also focused on evaluating organizational performance and making improvements that maximize staff and company productivity. He obtained his Joint Health and Safety Certification and is Co-Chair of HosPall’s Joint Health and Safety Committee.

   Outside of his professional role, Bruce is passionate about community involvement. He is President of the King City Lions, volunteers with the local food bank, and was a volunteer assistant coach with the King Sentinals. He enjoys travelling, sports, and is dedicated to using his leadership skills to help others in meaningful ways.

3. 

   Senior Nurse Manager, RN

   Erwin de Lemos

   Erwin de Lemos has been a Registered Nurse for over 25 years and brings a wealth of experience to HosPall Homecare. Originally earning his nursing degree in the Philippines, Erwin arrived in Canada more than 16 years ago. Before earning his nursing credentials in Ontario he worked as a live in personal support worker, giving him the firsthand insight into the importance of compassionate, hand-on care.

   Throughout his career, Erwin has gained extensive experience in family medicine, palliative and end of life care, and complex long-term care. He also served as a flight nurse, providing critical care for patients in unstable environments: experience that honed his ability to stay calm and deliver expert care in high-pressure situations.

   Since joining HosPall in 2014, Erwin has been a cornerstone of our care team as Senior Nurse Manager. He is deeply passionate about helping others, mentoring staff, and ensuring clients receive the highest standard of care. He recently obtained his Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education (CAPCE) designation.

   Outside of work, Erwin enjoys travelling and spending quality time with his family.

4. 

   Nurse Manager, RN

   Juliana Machado

   Juliana Machado graduated as a Registered Nurse in 2006 in Brazil, post-graduate in Emergency and ICU, and earned her MBA in Hospital Management. Juliana moved to Canada in 2018, when she joined the HosPall team as a Personal Support Worker, later advancing to Homecare Manager in 2022. In 2024, she was promoted to -Client Care Coordinator. In 2025, Juliana earned her Registered Nurse designation in Ontario, a milestone that reflects her dedication to professional excellence and patient care. Now as Nurse Manager, Juliana continues to bring her knowledge and skill to her work and is committed to continuous learning.

   In early 2026, Juliana earned the Comprehensive Advanced Palliative Care Education (CAPCE) designation. She shares, ” Nursing is the science of knowing how to care, advocate, and build therapeutic relationships with clients, families, and team members.”

   Outside of work, Juliana loves spending time outdoors with her daughter.

5. 

   Director of Strategic Growth & Innovation

   Karen Dubeau

   Karen Dubeau brings a dynamic blend of engineering and business expertise to her role as Director of Strategic Growth and Innovation at HosPall Private Homecare. A seasoned entrepreneur and change leader, she is deeply embedded in York Region’s innovation ecosystem, having forged successful partnerships with major health organizations and post-secondary institutions. She is excited to contribute to HosPall’s position at the forefront of innovative care solutions.

   Having experienced first-hand the complexities of helping aging family members navigate the healthcare system, Karen became passionate about supporting individuals and families through all stages of life. She was drawn to HosPall by its values-driven leadership, commitment to compassionate care, and strong community support. Karen is committed to advancing HosPall’s mission by implementing solutions, processes, and partnerships that set the standard for quality care with a current focus on social prescribing, health quality, and leadership development.

   Karen holds the Certified Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) designation (2026), a certificate in Health Quality Standards from the University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She also serves as a member of the King Township Age-Friendly Steering Committee, helping to develop an Age-Friendly Community Action Plan.

   Outside of her role at HosPall, Karen is a strong advocate for women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), working with youth and women’s organizations to promote careers in these fields.

   Karen’s contributions have been recognized with several prestigious honours, including the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Ontario, Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

6. 

   Medical Director

   Dr. Rhea Uy

   “Growing old is a fact of life, and growing old with dignity is a basic human right. But growing old with grace is a choice — and a gift we can give to those who once cared for us, when they are no longer able to make that choice themselves.

   I consider it the greatest of honours to care for those who walked before us and made possible the life we enjoy today. Even when dementia takes away the ability to recall what has just happened, a person still experiences life fully in the present. And in those fleeting moments, we all have the power to transform their experience through the simplest of gestures — a smile, a kind word, an honest compliment, a listening ear, a gentle touch. The smallest acts of caring can make the most significant difference.”

   Dr. Rhea Uy has been a licensed Canadian family physician since 2014, with a special interest in palliative and geriatric medicine. Since 2017, she has cared for the elderly, the most vulnerable, and the dying — in their own homes and across congregate settings including long-term care homes, retirement homes, and group homes.

   Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Uy provided medical support to several municipal and private long-term care homes, stepping in as medical director of a private LTC home when called upon. She also delivered preventive care and vaccination services in partnership with hospitals, townships, and public health units across York Region and Toronto.

   A proponent of holistic, evidence-based care and lifelong learning, Dr. Uy continually advances her knowledge and skills in palliative and geriatric care. She looks forward to being your partner in aging with grace.
